Russell & Jean - Leonora
Leonora business owners Jean and Russell Lutz
Jean and Russell own and operate Leonora Drive Connectors, in WA’s Goldfields. Officially it’s a tyre and hydraulic hose service, but with their yard full to the brim with random machine and vehicle parts, there’s a chance you’ll find just what you need to fix up a broken-down old rig. Self-described environmentalists, they salvage and repurpose what would otherwise end up at the tip. Between them they own five gophers (disability scooters) which they ride around town doing their shopping and running errands, because they’re more economical than a car.
We got chatting about their wedding day and while Jean went to fetch their outfits from their big day, Russell told me with great pride, how Jean had customised their matching shirts herself.
