Now I feel I should never say I’ve got a favourite wedding (it’s like saying you’ve got a favourite child!)…but if I did, this would be it 🙂 Both photographically and emotionally there were so many highlights.
First of all, of course, there were the people – at the end of the day I wanted to bring the bridal party and Claire’s and Pedro’s parents home with me. Claire got her wish for blue skies with a few wispy clouds so the photos would look lovely (thanks for that Claire – it was the most perfect Denmark autumn day). Then there was the most beautiful bouquet I’ve ever seen, created by Claire’s clever sister using all their granny’s trinkets. The ceremony and reception were both at Forest Hill Winery with Claire and the girls arriving in style on the old tractor from William Bay Cottages. The reading during the ceremony needs a special mention – a poem about the happy couple that was as bawdy as it was long! I’ve never heard such laughter during a ceremony before. And the laughter continued at the reception thanks to Pedro’s decision to have 4 bestmen – I’m not sure he’d really thought that through…4 bestmen = 4 bestman speeches!
